Overview

Proved in numerous client engagements, Advanced 365 believes that crucial to the success of Microsoft SharePoint implementations is the provision of technical and end user documentation and training. Additionally due to the evolutionary and organic nature by which SharePoint becomes used in an organisation, a clearly charted ‘roadmap’ for future SharePoint use, development and expansion and a technical and information architecture to support that growth is essential.

Development Review Process

Advanced 365 recommends a 10-15 day consultative exercise to address the issues companies face when having implemented SharePoint, and to outline a best-practice use strategy for leveraging the tools and functionality SharePoint can offer. The consultative exercise typically includes:

• Discussions with chosen Teams (typically IT) across the business to gain an overview of the technical and functional landscape of the current SharePoint implementation
• Creation of a high level technical documentation which will describe the main features and technical topology of the SharePoint implementation
• Informal, bespoke end-user training to ensure chosen (typically IT) Team members can efficiently complete routine and anticipate tasks
• Creation of a basic user guide to address the user tasks which most commonly produce difficulty for administrators and end users. This guide will be bespoke to the organisation, and topics included will be chosen with direction from organisation
• Discussions with members of the chosen Teams to explore options for growth in the current SharePoint deployment, and if appropriate upgrading SharePoint
• Creation of a recommendation document for an organisations SharePoint strategy

Advanced 365 recognises that any one of these points could potentially be expanded into a week-long or greater engagement. Advanced 365 expects the purpose of this engagement not to completely address all issues an organisation faces with its current SharePoint deployment, but to cover the largest, most pressing issues to a degree that will allow an organisation to move forward with its SharePoint deployment/strategy.
