Advanced 365’s Project control Centre (PCC), has been developed as a result of 16 years of experience in managing projects of all sizes. The combination of Microsoft’s Enterprise Project Management application, SharePoint, and Business Intelligence using SQL Reporting Services, equips business managers with the tools to make good decisions quickly based on real-time information. PCC brings to the fore the answers to the key questions, namely:

• What is the current status against milestones
• Where is the knowledge I require to make informed decisions?
• Are we in control of project risks and issues?
• Where is the supporting project documentation?
• Does this project have an approved business case?
• How can the project team communicate effectively?

A common issue across organisations is the ‘rogue project’, one that everyone seems to know is running, but no-one is quite sure why and who instigated it. Advanced 365’s Project Control Centre provides a standard form to initiate projects with automated workflow to ensure that the correct authorities are obtained before a project can start.

Project Workspace - One Version of the Truth

Once the project is up and running Advanced 365’s Project Control Centre provides at-a-glance key information on the projects status - allowing early identification where intervention may be required. Management can receive a summary of all projects via their own ‘Projects Dashboard’.

Each project has its own Project Workspace - delivered using the power of Microsoft EPM, SharePoint and Reporting Services a customised view of the project status, supporting documentation and any other information that the Project Team requires to formally communicate with other team members. This interface links project server Gantt charts to tracking task lists in SharePoint to aid communication, with the level of detail synchronised between the two adjusted to suit. The tab based interface can be customised to follow PMO a customer’s own processes.

Cost effective and easily deployed

Microsoft Enterprise Project Server is a sophisticated tool for Project Managers to track, control and report on project status, however, the cost implications for providing access to the data collected for the potential wide audience interested or involved in using the knowledge derived from it, can be significant. Advanced 365’s PCC provides a method of delivering this information to groups of end users in an appropriate manner to their role, simply through a standard web browser, hosted and managed in Advanced 365’s Tier 3 data centres on a SaaS model or hosted internal by your IT teams.
