The first stage of any BI engagement with Advanced 365 is a 5 day proof-of-concept which sets out to deliver a working report that the customer can use going forwards as a useable business tool. This approach has been adopted because it offers a risk free solution that for minimal cost demonstrates how the Advanced 365's Reporting Services Consolidator solution will be of benefit to your business.
At the end of the proof of concept stage the customer is under no commitment to continue working with Advanced 365 should the solution not prove to be effective. This is in stark contrast to many of the other solutions available today where a significant upfront investment is often required before any return on investment can be proved.
The Reporting Services Consolidator leverages the power of Microsoft SQL Reporting Services (SSRS) and the Microsoft SharePoint platform to automate the report consolidation process. The Reporting Services Consolidator uses SharePoint Document Libraries to store reports and other documents prior to consolidation. Additionally, users can manually load documents into these SharePoint document libraries for inclusion in the consolidated report packs. This mechanism allows variable and non-transactional data to be included, such as report commentaries and cover pages.

The definition of what is included in a consolidated report pack is controlled by a 'Report Pack Definition' xml file. These definition files define what reports and documents are included in the report packs but also, if reports are being collected on demand, what parameters are used to execute the reports. Finally, the report pack definition also controls the look and feel of the consolidated report pack by defining page orientation, paper size, sequencing etc.
