Rick Emslie - Biography
Rick is one of Europe’s leading experts in human capital measurement. He was a founding partner of the HR Benchmarking consultancy, EP-First & Saratoga, which was acquired by PricewaterhouseCoopers in late 2003.
Rick now operates primarily as an independent adviser in the fields of human capital measurement, HR strategy, HR Business Partnering and HR shared services. He is a regular speaker at conferences on these topics both in the UK and internationally.
In his consultancy and advisory work, Rick specialises in helping organisations with the analysis, interpretation and strategic positioning of people contribution metrics as part of their broader business agenda. He is a co-founder of the Oxen Park Learning Forum for Senior HR Business Partners. The Forum has in a very short time established itself as the pre-eminent networking and thought-leadership forum for senior practitioners. He is also Deputy Chairman of AdviserPlus who offer a unique HR advisory service for line managers on behalf of the internal HR team (www.adviserplus.com) and is also an Honorary Fellow of the Lancaster University Management School’s Centre for Performance-led HR. He has held a number of other non-executive directorships and strategic advisory positions for both public and private sector organisations.
Rick applies missionary zeal to bringing an objective dimension to all aspects of human resource involvement within an organisation, particularly at a strategic level.
