Advanced Business Solutions is a leading supplier of HRMIS software to the Legal Sector in the UK and has over 20 years experience in providing HR software solutions and delivering successful projects.

After further meetings to discuss the depth of functionality, Boyes Turner joined Advanced Business Solutions as a customer.

PML

Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML) is a dynamic, highly innovative and impartial provider of scientific advice, research and solutions on the marine environment. PML have played an integral part in the UK’s strategic marine science and technology capability for over 30 years, where they advise the Government, the European Union and international regulating bodies on strategic issues ranging from the ‘ecosystem approach’ to global change issues such as ocean acidification.

Advanced Business Solutions were shortlisted for first round of presentations where PML were impressed by the adaptability of the solution and ease of use around the workflow tool. Advanced Business Solutions were then shortlisted down to final two where we presented employee specific scenarios based around PML specifics. PML were most impressed by our professionalism, solution and project approach.

Cranstoun Drug Services

Cranstoun Drug Services is a non-profit, independent, charity and leading provider of specialist services to those affected by drug and alcohol use. Their range of services has an acknowledged reputation for delivering treatment, rehabilitation and support of high quality, with the aim of reducing the impact and harm caused by drug and alcohol use to individuals and communities. Their services encompass harm reduction and abstinence approaches and treatment goals, with all provision based upon individually assessed need.

Cranstoun Drug Services Advanced Business Solutions’ experience in the charity sector extends to both large and small charities that are using our HR Pro and OpenPeople Software solutions. The software has the ability to help manage full time, part-time, seasonal employees and volunteers. It also helps to standardise a quality approach to service delivery, reduce administration costs and make more effective use of charitable funds.

The HR director at Cranstoun had used ASR products and services previously and had experienced the ‘Return on Investment’ that a solution like ours can offer. Cranstoun also required a finance system so Advanced Business Solutions presented a joint proposal for both HR & Finance. After a couple of demonstrations Advanced Business Solutions was selected as preferred suppliers and contracts were agreed.

Hay Group Management first met our Business Manager at one of our customer based seminars after which we presented to the HR team. Hay Group were impressed by the current portfolio and sales approach and wanted to invest in a company with the right product and right people. Having been hosted by Advanced Business Solutions Managing Director, Mark Thompson, on a yacht at Cowes week they felt reassured in our customer focused approach. A further demonstration was required to HR and IT Departments after which contracts were agreed.

Independence Homes

Independence HomesIndependence Homes was formed in 1997 specifically to help people with epilepsy and learning difficulties to fulfill their potential and achieve their own objectives. Today, they employ 275 staff and support 80 adults in both supported living programmes and community based residential care. Independence Homes’ mission statement is to be the world’s best epilepsy care company and to be recognised as the best.

Advanced Business Solutions were one of many providers selected for the first round of presentations. However, the integration of our solution with the flexibility of the product meant we were shortlisted down to the final two. Two further hands on sessions were required before contracts were agreed.

Brookson Purchase Advanced Business Solutions’ HR and Self Service Software

Brookson was created to give freelance contractors the opportunity to enjoy the financial benefits of being limited without having to deal with the hassle and legal implications of setting up and running the business. Established in 1995 by contractors, Brookson has grown rapidly and are now viewed as the market leader.

With over 150 employees based in Cheshire, the company realised that the company’s growth needed to be managed more effectively and it was decided that Brookson could achieve this through the introduction of HR software.

The search for a suitable HR software supplier began and a series of HR Software demonstrations was only one part of the buying cycle. Brookson’s Head of HR deliberately visited HR software suppliers’ customers as well as speaking with suppliers’ customers over the phone.

Brookson’s Head of HR felt it was important to see suppliers’ HR software operate in a live environment in addition to getting a feel for their customers’ experiences in terms of the implementation, support and training on the HR Software. Armed with all this information Brookson’s Head of HR was in the perfect position to make a final decision choosing our HR software solution, with its rich functionality, in-built report writer and glowing references from existing customers. Brookson purchased our HR software including the Personnel, Recruitment, OrgPlus and Self-service modules.

Focus Ireland By Advanced Business Solutions’s HR Software Because of our experience in the Irish HR Software Marketplace

Focus IrelandFocus Ireland was founded by Sr Stanislaus Kennedy in 1985 as a result of the findings of research into the needs of homeless women in Dublin. Since 1985, Focus Ireland has continued to grow and expand its services. In 1988, the organisation opened its first development of low rent, good quality long-term and short-term housing in Dublin. Focus Ireland now has additional housing and service projects in Dublin as well as housing developments in both Limerick and Waterford.

A registered charity with over 280 employees and volunteers, Focus Ireland needed to identify a cost-effective HR system that could meet their functional needs and also be flexible enough to evolve with the growth of the charity. Focus Ireland also wanted to find an HR software supplier with experience of the Irish marketplace. After a couple of HR software demonstrations and a reference visit to one of our other Dublin customers – Deloitte (Ireland), Focus Ireland purchased our HR software system including Personnel and Training.

Grainger Trust plc a Leading FTSE 250 Company Purchase Advanced Business Solutions HR Pro Software System to Help Drive HR Strategy

With over 12,000 homes, Grainger is the largest quoted residential property owner in the UK. A FTSE 250 company, with a turnover in excess of £250 million Grainger needed an HR Software solution that is flexible and powerful enough to help drive through HR strategy and development. Grainger also needed an HR software system that was able to manage their flexible benefits, learning and development programme and to help re-engineer HR processes.

Grainger has over 500 employees supported by an HR function located at their Head office in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne and other office in London. After an extensive review of the HR software marketplace Grainger put together a comprehensive ITT and sent it out to handful of short-listed suppliers. Each HR software supplier delivered a demonstration and from there short-listed suppliers had to provide a customer reference and a Hands On. Grainger chose our HR Pro software including: Personnel, Training, Self-service, .NET HR Workflow and Orgplus.

Our HR Software solution is endorsed by Cross London Rail Links Ltd Executive Board

CrosstrailCross London Rail Links is a company which was established in 2001 and is a 50/50 joint venture company between Transport for London (TfL) and the Department for Transport (DfT). Crossrail is an exciting and visionary new railway proposal for London and the South-East by 2015. Crossrail will make travelling in the area easier and quicker and reduce crowding on London’s transport network. It will operate with main line size trains, carrying more than 1500 passengers in each train. It will deliver substantial economic benefits in London and the South-East and across the UK. The estimated benefit of Crossrail to the UK economy is £30 billion* (*TfL figures, May 2006).

Crossrail attended one of the HR & Payroll exhibitions at the NEC Birmingham looking to short-list a number of HR & Payroll software suppliers to replace their existing system. Crossrail’s existing system was unable to meet their functional requirements and the reporting was extremely limited. Crossrail also needed to find a system that was able to evolve with them and offer them the flexibility to configure the system as processes changed. Also, Crossrail needed an HR system that provided them with sufficient recruitment functionality to help with their recruitment drive once the bill is passed by Parliament authorising the build of Crossrail.

After viewing a series of demonstrations at the show Crossrail identified a number of suppliers to invite in to provide formal demonstrations to their project team. From here the project team requested that each HR software suppliers provide them with three customer phone references before deciding on which suppliers should be invited in for a more detail demonstration of their recommended HR software solution. The detailed demonstration then followed with Crossrail visiting the short listed suppliers’ offices to get a feel for the company and for the project team running to have an opportunity to use the software in a training environment. Crossrail chose us as the preferred supplier, a decision also endorsed by their executive board. The order included our HR Pro Software including Recruitment, Self-service and Advanced Business Solutions' .net HR Workflow module.

Leading Legal Experts Kimbells Solicitors LLP purchased Advanced Business Solutions Legal Sector HR Software Including Self-service

Kimbells was established in 1986 by lawyers who had practised in the City but recognised there was a place for high quality legal expertise and delivery in the regions. The firm’s traditional strengths lie in corporate law but a comprehensive commercial practice has been developed to meet the demands of clients, ranging from owner-managed businesses to major plcs.

Based in Milton Keynes, Kimbells wanted to find an HR software supplier that had considerable experience in working with other law firms. The HR software solution also had to be flexible enough to grow and evolve in line with the ambitions of the firm. It also had to include the functionality to manage Kimbells Continuous Professional Development and have the ability to provide management information via a comprehensive report writer.

Kimbells received several demonstrations from key HR software suppliers but felt that the HR Pro software solution from Advanced Business Solutions and more importantly their experience in the legal sector offered them the best system. With an HR Function of Sixteen The Parliamentary & Health Service Ombudsman – (PHSO) Give Their Vote to Advanced Business Solutions’ HR Pro Software Solution

PHSOPHSO carry out independent investigations into complaints about UK government departments and their agencies, and the NHS in England – and help improve public services as a result.

Based in central London, PHSO employees 300 staff supported by an HR function of 16 provides a range of services including recruitment and selection, payroll and pensions, policy, employee relations, management information and reporting, and learning and development.

PHSO wanted to identify a comprehensive, integrated HR system with key requirements including:

PHSO’s project team put together a comprehensive tender that was sent to HR software suppliers after creating their short list after attending one of the HR software exhibitions. The PHSO’s project team evaluated each of the responses to the tender and each successful company in the first evaluation round was required to make a presentation and demonstration of their proposal to the evaluation panel and answer any questions arising from it.

Advanced Business Solutions’ HR Pro was one of those successful systems and the PHSO project team visited ASR House so the team had an opportunity to play with the software in one of our dedicated training suites. Before making their decision, PHSO took references up with the short listed HR software suppliers upon which they made their recommendations to the Project Board for approval. Advanced Business Solutions’ HR Pro software solution was chosen and PHSO purchased further HR software including, Self Service, Recruitment, Training, Org Plus and our .net HR Workflow module.

Royal Star & Garter Felt That Advanced Business Solutions’ HR software Solution was the Best Fit

Royal Star & GarterThe Royal Star & Garter Home was established in 1916 to care for disabled ex-service men returning from the First World War. The Charity moved to its current purpose built Care Home in Richmond, Surrey in 1924. Today it is a progressive Charity with plans to build three new care homes to meet the future needs of the ex-service community. Royal Star & Garter consists of staff at each home, the head office, volunteers and bank staff.

The Royal Star & Garter attended one of the HR software shows to draw up list of potential suppliers to send their tender document too. With very specific requirements, Royal Star & Garter wanted to identify an HR software supplier that had considerable experience of working with other charities and provided a solution that was flexible enough to evolve with them.

After a series of demonstrations and speaking to HR software suppliers’ customers, the Royal Star & Garter felt that HR Pro from Advanced Business Solutions was the best fit for them now and in the future. Also, the hands on session provided by our Business Manager before the Royal Star and Garter made their final decision gave them an excellent opportunity to rigorously evaluate the HR software. It also allowed Royal Star and Garter to run through some of their unique scenarios with one of our HCM trainers.

West London YMCA Identify Advanced Business Solutions As A Leading HR Software Supplier In The Charity Sector

West London YMCAWest London YMCA is part of the largest voluntary youth organisation in the World. An independent Charity and Company limited by guarantee their position gives them a special responsibility and opportunity, which they aim to develop by establishing services & programmes, to benefit children and young people across West London and through the YMCA Movement.

A project team of 6 were assigned the task of identifying an HR software solutions provider to meet the needs of growing charity and the ability to deal with multiple-posts, short-term contracts, a growing volunteer database, competency matching and appraisals.

3 short-listed HR software suppliers were invited in to provide a demonstration on each of their recommended HR software solutions. Moreover, after analysing each of the demonstrations, West London YMCA’s project team decided to look at two of the solutions in more detail and requested that those suppliers return for further examination.

West London YMCA decided that our experience in working with many charities and the fact that our HR software solution is so comprehensive meant that HR Pro provided West London YMCA with the best solution on offer. West London YMCA project team recommended us as the preferred supplier to their board, upon which the board gave their approval.
