Real Time Information
Real-Time Information (RTI) is probably the biggest change to hit PAYE since the Pay As You Earn system was itself introduced in 1944.
Under RTI, employers and pension providers must tell HMRC about tax, National Insurance contributions (NICs) and other deductions when or before the payments are made, instead of waiting until after the end of the tax year. This means RTI reporting must be an integral part of an employer's normal payroll activity.
