This module provides options to control the planned movement of stock between locations or to fulfil Sales Orders from other locations. The different types of movements can be issues resulting in the generation of picking lists, and/or receipts. The process is managed using our workflow methodology with various options at each stage.
Having a view of where stock is held within a multi-site operation is a central function within the system, the Distribution module provides a controlled menu-driven utility for transferring the stock between warehouses/locations whilst also providing the ability to incorporate the additional costs of transportation within the Stock cost.
Orders can be raised for inter-warehouse transfers to accommodate stock shortages or to take advantage of central purchasing functions. Sales Orders can be requested for fulfilment directly from other locations where stock is managed locally.
Fulfilment of Distribution Orders can incorporate transportation/handling costs to ensure that the true costs of distribution are captured and balanced against the cost of holding inventory.
A separate Receiving process for Distribution Orders ensures that stock levels are only updated when Goods have arrived at their Destination.
The Distribution Orders Enquiry provides a view of the current status of all Distribution Orders, the stock requested and the full Order History.
A standard query screen provides the user with the ability to easily home in on selected orders e.g. by location or status.
