Test Analyst
Looking for an experienced test analyst with a good knowledge of system and functional testing with a mind-set to grow and contribute to practices and process to strengthen our Testing and QA.
The successful candidate would work in a fast paced agile environment working with team leaders to define and plan a testing strategy during sprint planning, taking into account any changes in requirements through quality assurance.
Working as part of the project team you will demonstrate strong communication skills liaising with developers throughout sprints to ensure work meets our high quality standards, highlighting issues and impediments to the team leader and product owner promptly.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- define and plan testing requirements meeting project requirements and timelines
- prepare test plans and scripts, including those required for automated testing
- ensure the highest quality is maintained through to release
- verify acceptance criteria are met as part of the assurance process
- provide feedback to development team leaders to aid continuous improvement
- provide estimates and team leaders to ensure delivery expectations are managed
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will bring with them/be:
- strong communication skills both verbal and written
- methodical and thorough approach to testing
- enthusiasm for team working and continuous improvement
- good analytical and problem-solving skills
Knowledge and Experience
Essential Skills:
- good understanding of software development lifecycle
- experience writing test cases and preparing test data
- proven track record in testing and quality assurance
- knowledge of quality management (internal, UAT, production)
- ability to provide estimates around testing
- raise and track bugs including retesting
- provide constructive feedback better enhance usage and experience
- manage test environments to ensure full confidence
Desirable Skills:
- knowledge of agile methods and practices
- experience of testing mobile devices
- NHS Information Governance
Education / Qualifications
ISEB or ISTQB certifications would be an advantage
Development Manager (Health)
A Development Manager is required to co-ordinate team resources across locations within Advanced Health & Care, a division of Advanced Computer Software.
Primarily responsible for management of internal and external resources you will have a desire to maximise performance and productivity, yet possess a strong appreciation for the time and innovation required to write great software.
Working alongside the CTO and Software Architecture Team you will ensure the quality of work performed by multiple development teams. Responsible for development resource and its output to the business, you will work closely with Product Management to support product roadmap development and commitments, providing full traceability at all times.
The successful candidate will have a passion for building great products and importantly bring innovation to the healthcare sector and the patients it serves. As someone with great people skills you will be able maintain the passion and dedication of our common vision.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- work with Project Managers and Leads to plan and execute projects
- ensure teams have appropriate product and technical specifications, direction, and resource to deliver products effectively
- establish realistic estimates for timelines and resource
- ensure projects remain on-target to meet expectation
- track and report status of projects in teams to stakeholders
- act as gateway through which work should be assigned appropriately
- ensure project scope is adequately defined
- manage and promote relationship with key stakeholders
- schedule work and help shape product roadmap delivery
- develop and enforce process for incoming quality and requests
- liaise with off-shore team to gain traceability and visibility of work

Developer (Ashford Location)
We are expanding our team having won a significant new contract and are looking for a new team member to contribute to our existing and next generation products. Working as a Software Developer you would be able to bring knowledge and skills to the team and be able to generate enthusiasm among your team members for new technologies and working practices.
As a Developer you would be able to translate software requirements into concise and robust programming code and accustomed to identifying opportunities to improve the code-base in in terms of its quality and implementation. You will be good at troubleshooting and able to devise possible solutions to predictable problems and evaluate other options.
Working to move the technology of the product forwards you are able to balance your passion for technology with commercial awareness and are able to communicate with business stakeholders in a professional manner.
Reporting to the Development Manager responsibilities would include;
- Working with the team to manage small-scale development projects
- Translate software requirements into concise and robust programming code
- Maintain any existing applications identifying opportunities to improve the code-base
- Test developed code to a high quality including verifying user-acceptance criteria to ensure work meets requirements
- Devise possible solutions to predicted problems, evaluating other options
- Produce technical documentation to describe system usage
- Work closely with the Test Analyst to ensure feedback and issues are addressed
- Liaise with third-parties to implement external dependencies
- Provide telephone support both internally and to external clients
- Consult resource material to maintain and further existing skills and knowledge
Skills & Experience
3+ years of C# .NET development experience on medium to large scale applications, including practical experience of the following:
- Good OO knowledge
- Awareness of common design patterns
- Good understanding of n-tier development approaches/generics usage
- MVC web application development
- Test-driven development with a test framework such as MSTest or NUnit
- SQL Server 2005+ databases w/T-SQL + stored-procedures
- Mocking frameworks such as Rhino Mocks or Moq
- .NET 3.5 and Visual Studio 2008
Experience of the following would be an advantage:
- .NET 4.0 and Visual Studio 2010
- Rich web-based development using jQuery + CSS
- Dependency injection frameworks such as Unity/StructureMap/Castle
- WCF (Windows Communication Foundation) and/or SOAP/WSDL
- Domain Driven Design, CQRS, and/or Event Sourcing
- Building high availability solutions for SQL Server
- UML modelling for software specification (including use cases, sequence diagrams, and process flow diagrams).
