"Advanced Health & Care have
provided a solution to a significant
problem for the NHS, namely
widespread availability of information
across all health settings. If we are
to improve patients lives, we need to
ensure that up to date information
is available to all who need it. With
the implementation of the End of
Life Strategy, we need to be able to
provide the opportunity for patients
to choose where they would like
to die. These wishes need both to
be respected and to be available in
planned and emergency settings.
The End of Life Care Register at last
allows us to do this."

Consultant in Palliative Care,

Minor Injury Units (MIUs) play a very important and integral part within the unscheduled care service. They predominantly offer a service in between out-of-hours and A&Es.
MIU services are provided to ease the pressure from A&E departments, especially with the continual increase of A&E admissions. They offer a non-invasive service for conditions such as twisted ankles and broken wrists. This essentially diverts patients with these injury types from A&E, allowing them to concentrate on patients with life-threatening conditions.
Adastra is powerfully configurable to provide a custom-built workflow to manage your patient flow within an MIU environment. Without the need for any development, Adastra will allow you to capture patients' demographics when they first present themselves to the MIU service. This can be tailored to meet service needs and provide the clinician with details of any previous consultations in the MIU or even in the out-of-hours environment.
