Advanced Computer Software nominated for two Prince’s Trust Technology Leadership Group awards
7 December 2011 – Advanced Computer Software Group (Advanced), a leading provider of healthcare and business management software and services, has been nominated for two Prince’s Trust Technology Leadership (TLG) Group awards. The awards ceremony is taking place on 7 December 2011 at international law firm and award sponsor, Taylor Wessing (New Street Square, London). The awards are being presented by former England Rugby Union player, Victor Ubogu.
The Prince’s Trust helps thousands of disadvantaged young people each year to build their confidence and get back into work, education or training. The Prince’s Trust Technology Leadership Group (TLG) is the corporate social responsibility initiative for companies and individuals from the UK technology, media and telecoms industries.
The TLG Awards recognise companies whose employees have made an incredible impact on the work of the Prince’s Trust by participating in a fundraising challenge, or by volunteering on a Trust programme. These fundraising activities are key to helping young people across the UK to turn their lives around.
Advanced is one of six companies shortlisted in the ‘David Haye Award’, which will be presented to the company viewed as punching above its weight. Advanced is also one of four companies nominated for the Superstars Award, which recognises companies that have undertaken the most physical effort and exertion in support of the Prince’s Trust.
Vin Murria, Advanced Computer Software Group’s Chief Executive Officer says, “We are delighted to have been nominated for these awards and are proud to have raised funds for The Prince’s Trust, a worthwhile organisation that works hard to change the lives of disadvantaged young people across the UK.”
Four teams from Advanced recently took part in the Prince’s Trust UK Wild Challenge, raising an impressive £18,000. One of the teams – ABSFab – raised a total of £6,235, the second highest amount of the 39 participating teams. The physically gruelling Wild UK Challenge saw 17 members of Advanced’s staff hike, cycle and kayak over 100 miles from Somerset to Devon in just three days.
