Advanced Computer Software nominated for two Prince’s Trust Technology Leadership Group awards
14 December 2011 – Advanced Computer Software Group plc(Advanced), a leading provider of healthcare and business management software and services, has scooped the Superstars Award at the much coveted Prince’s Trust Technology Leadership (TLG) Group Awards.
The Superstars Award is presented to the company that has undertaken the most physical effort and exertion in support of The Prince’s Trust.
Advanced fought off tough competition from four other companies to scoop the Superstars award, which was presented to Advanced by former England Rugby Union player, Victor Ubogu. The ceremony took place on 7 December 2011 at the offices of international law firm and award sponsor, Taylor Wessing (New Street Square, London).
The TLG Awards reward companies whose employees have made an incredible impact on the work of The Prince’s Trust by participating in a fundraising challenge, or by volunteering on a Trust programme. These fundraising activities are key to helping young people across the UK to turn their lives around.
Advanced was presented with the Superstars Award in recognition of the achievements of the Advanced staff who recently took part in The Prince’s Trust UK Wild Challenge, raising an impressive £18,000. One of the teams – ABSFab – raised a total of £6,235, which is the second highest amount of the 39 participating teams. The physically gruelling Wild UK Challenge saw 17 members of Advanced’s staff hike, cycle and kayak over 100 miles from Somerset to Devon in just three days.
Vin Murria, Advanced Computer Software Group’s Chief Executive Officer says, “We are delighted to have won the Superstars Award which is testament to the Advanced teams’ gruelling efforts in support of The Prince’s Trust. Their physical and financial contributions to the Wild UK Challenge are to be applauded and will help to improve the lives of disadvantaged young people across the UK.”
Tamarin Ward, Corporate Partnerships Manager from the Prince’s Trust says, “Advanced is a worthy winner of this award and the Advanced teams’ fantastic achievements are to be congratulated. It is thanks to companies, like Advanced, that go the extra mile in support of The Prince’s Trust that our invaluable work can continue.”
